USD 100,000 to support Ethiopian refugee children

Thousands of children have fled the full-scale humanitarian crisis in Ethiopia’s Tigray region, and taken refuge in Sudan. More than 45,000 people have fled so far. Conflict always affects children the most, therefore the H&M Foundation is providing emergency relief support to Save the Children. The funds will be used in efforts to reunite children with their families, provide shelter, clean water and education.

USD 100,000 to Red Cross to support the victims of Beirut

The massive blast that devastated parts of Beirut caused many casualties and considerable damage. 300,000 people are estimated to have been displaced from their homes, over 200 people have been reported dead, 6,000 injured and many are still missing. The donation to the Red Cross is focused on first aid, psychosocial support, emergency shelter and related water, sanitation and hygiene services as well as food and other household needs.

USD 500,000 to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund

A first-of-its-kind COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund is initiated to raise money to support the work to prevent, detect, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim is to ensure all countries are prepared, especially those with the weakest health systems. The UN Foundation, at the request of World Health Organization (WHO), has created the fund which already has some major early supporters lined up including Facebook and Google. Today, the non-profit H&M Foundation commits USD 500,000 to the fund’s lifesaving work.
