Our role

Our role is to identify gaps and opportunities along the textile industry value chain where we can act with speed to find, fund and drive projects to catalyse change. As a private foundation for public benefit, we can act boldly and take risks that many commercial businesses or publicly funded NGOs can’t.

However, being a relatively small foundation, we can’t do this by ourselves. We want to be the spark that ignites something bigger and better.

We believe in openness and collaboration

Cross-sector collaboration and a willingness to share learnings are essential for accelerating the decarbonisation of the industry. The complexity of environmental and social challenges requires equally complex and thoughtful solutions involving a diverse range of stakeholders. We want to drive change holistically with others.

To do so, we have an open-source approach and share findings and learnings, good and bad, transparently with our partners and wider network. Our aim is that our work should benefit the entire textile and fashion industry, and beyond.
