South x South – Aiming for equitable decarbonisation of the textile industry

Together with Catalyst 2030 we are investing in social entrepreneurs from the global south and the scaling of systems change collaborations, with a focus on equitable decarbonisation of the fashion and textile industry.

Founded at the World Economic Forum in 2020, the aim of Catalyst 2030 is to leverage collective action to elevate solutions that are built on lived experience, and the perspectives of marginalized groups, especially from the global south.

Through this collaboration, we will contribute towards building the capacity of Catalyst 2030 and help bringing the voices of the Global South to the forefront of climate discussionsandrealign the balance of power that currently exists where solutions to climate change are dictated by actors from the Global North, which risks creating solutions that have negative consequences for people in the countries where the effects of climate change can be hardest felt.

The initiative will specifically focus on supporting social entrepreneurs that have equitable solutions to combating climate change within the value chains of the textile and fashion industry. The goal is to build a programme to support collaborations and social entrepreneurs by accessing the resources, tools, training and support they need in order to flourish and scale their impact and also to connect them to donors, investors and markets.
