The earthquake, which hit on 30 September 2025, compounded the impact of earlier typhoons and heavy monsoon rains that had already displaced thousands of families across northern Cebu. The combined disasters have caused widespread destruction of homes, schools, and hospitals, leaving tens of thousands in urgent need of support.
The donation aims to meet the immediate, lifesaving, and recovery needs of an estimated 67,500 people in the most severely affected municipalities. It will help the Philippine Red Cross deliver emergency shelter, clean water, medical care, and psychosocial support to vulnerable families, while also contributing to long-term recovery and resilience-building efforts across the region.
