Thousands of people have been affected by the earthquakes, with homes, schools and health facilities severely impacted. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, and humanitarian needs are expected to increase.

Children and vulnerable communities are among the most affected. Disruptions to health services, education and protection systems are increasing risks of displacement, disease and psychological distress, particularly for children, elderly and people with disabilities.

USD 100,000 of the donation will be allocated to UNICEF to support children and families. The funding will contribute to access to clean water, nutrition support, child protection services and continuity of essential services, including health and education.

H&M Foundation is also donating USD 150,000 to the Red Cross to strengthen emergency response on the ground. This includes search and rescue, medical care, shelter, access to safe water and sanitation, and psychosocial support, alongside assistance to help households meet basic needs and restoring family links.

Together, these partners combine operational capacity to meet urgent needs while supporting early recovery in a coordinated effort.
